Training Myth's

While these myths may not rival the harrowing stories of Hercules atop Mount Olympus, they’re still entertaining.

Myth: “if we send people to training, all our problems will go away”

Reality: Training will not make all your problems go away, it’s impossible; what it will do is increase the knowledge of your people giving them a
greater chance of troubleshooting a problem and solving it effectively
and with more confidence; that’s the goal anyway.

Myth: “you have been to this PLC training; we shouldn’t have anymore downtime”

Reality: There is a huge difference between being taught “everything there is to know”, and “everything you need to know”. It is much more effective to
base the training on what people need to know. What a maintenance
electrician needs to know is how the automation systems in your
facility work using your applications. This is the only way to achieve the
goal, the trick is getting there.
